Karang Makassar, also known as Manta Point, is one of the best places in Komodo National Park to encounter manta rays. This drift dive along a sandy bottom with scattered coral bommies offers a high chance of spotting these graceful giants.

Dive Type:
Drift dive with mild to strong currents.

Key Features:

  • Long, shallow reef with sandy patches and scattered coral bommies.
  • Frequent manta ray cleaning stations.
  • Strong currents that bring plankton, attracting mantas.

Best Time to Dive:

Between September and January for the highest manta ray activity. Diving during slack tide ensures better visibility and an easier drift.
