Komodo National Park Dive Sites
NUSA KODE BAY South Komodo | Wild, remote, and bursting with life — Komodo’s southern frontier.
-9.0416, 119.4275
Tucked between the islands of Rinca and Kode, the remote Nusa Kode Bay offers some of the most biodiverse and dramatic diving in all of Komodo National Park. Sheltered from the open sea yet swept by nutrient-rich currents, this area is a magnet for marine life — from colorful nudibranchs to giant reef predators.
The southwestern tip of Kode Island, in particular, is unlike any other part of Komodo. Here, massive encrusted boulders dominate the underwater landscape, offering refuge to giant groupers, potato cod, and malabar groupers. Coral growth is minimal, but the scale and solitude of the site make it unforgettable — a place where every shadow could be hiding something spectacular.
