Spanning 1,214 square kilometers of protected ocean, Komodo National Park‘s waters create a complex tapestry of marine habitats – from vibrant coral reefs and dense mangrove forests to flourishing seagrass beds, dramatic seamounts, and sheltered bays.

Komodo National Park’s rich waters support a staggering marine ecosystem: more than 1,000 fish species swim among 260 types of reef-building corals, while 70 different sponge species thrive in its currents. This remarkable biodiversity makes the park one of the ocean’s most treasured sanctuaries.
