TORPEDO ALLEY South Komodo | A night dive like no other — strange species, electric surprises, and Komodo’s dark side.

8º 46' 34.9" S, 119º 39' 27.3" E

Overview

Located in Horseshoe Bay, near the southern end of Rinca Island, Torpedo Alley is Komodo’s most famous night dive — and one of the most unique in Indonesia. This muck-style dive on a black sand slope comes alive after sunset, when bizarre and beautiful creatures emerge from the dark.

The site is named for the torpedo rays that can be spotted here — flat-bodied electric rays that blend into the sand. But they’re just the beginning. From bobtail squid to stargazers, this dive is a parade of alien-like marine life, perfect for photographers and macro enthusiasts.
